Global Innovation Gathering Rocks the STATION-Berlin at re:publica 2015!

The Global Innovation Gathering a.k.a. the GIG15 community is a very special guest and a host of re:publica in one, giving some impressive performances both on stage and in the GIG Maker Space area (Booth PB01 in Hall 3). Innovation hub managers, makers, hackers and entrepreneurs from Asia, Africa and Latin America are showcasing their innovative tech and maker projects from all over the world here.

Many consider the GIG Maker Space to be one of the centrepieces of the re:publica. Visitors can take part in the construction of a 3D printer made out of e-waste, get a feel for the value chain associated with the reuse of electronic waste, and observe and admire 3D printing in action. One of the highlights in the GIG Maker Space was the DIY digital graffiti that could be attached to the ceiling or the clothing of participants.

Throughout the day today, on Day 3, we are programming an Android app without any coding skills at all, bringing dead batteries back to life, and building phone chargers from blocks of wood and scrap metal. Coffee made with cold water is served to everybody, and we are also building a TOR Proxy Box using a Raspberry Pi microcontroller.

Come and visit the vibrant and bustling GIG Maker Space in Hall 3 today!
